PHOTOJOURNALISM

Photos & Storytelling

PHOTOS

Everytime I have gotten a hand on a camera, I've worked to improve my skills and knowledge of photography. From my first photos of students in PALs to the basketball double header, I have considerable improvement. While increasing my technical knowledge I also got more confident in finding spots for good angles and purposeful composition of subjects. I've also taken pictures of sports that have difficult lighting situations, such as diving and track that do not get as much coverage. I also learned to write down information on pictures I had taken in order to write purposeful and informational captions to the photos. I hope to continue taking pictures when I can, as we have many talented photographers that consistently cover events around our school. We also highlight photography in our issues with photo features on our first and last pages, which showcases students across West High School.
